Show Up and Be Heard

It is important that our community have a voice. Without showing up to meetings and advocating for your neighbourhood, we don't stand a chance in enacting change. If you aren't able to attend the meetings, send someone that is. If you can't attend these meetings, write an email to the appropriate powers that be and state "I am not able to attend the meeting but wanted to provide my feedback."

Please, show up.

City of Surrey Council Meetings
City Hall
Monday evenings: 7pm

Purpose: When development applications continue to be approved, ignoring the school district's messaging that our schools are overcrowded and can no longer accept children in their own catchments schools, we need to step up and speak up. Join us at the Council Meetings. WHERE WILL THESE CHILDREN GO TO SCHOOL?

City of Surrey Council Meetings are held on Monday evenings on the following dates:

Board of Education Meetings
14033 - 92 Avenue (2nd Floor) - this is the building beside Ecole Simon Cunningham's parking lot
Wednesday evenings: 7pm

Purpose: Surrey Students Now would like to enact policy change within the District. One item in our goals is to have the school site acquisition charges increase exponentially. Currently they are only a maximum of $1000 per unit built by the developers as a means to fund additional schools. This is not adequate. A second item we would like them to consider is creating boundaries for Choice programs to force people into the Choice program closest to their location as a means to stop having Choice programs be the pawns for when capacity issues arise.

Surrey School District Board Meetings are held on Wednesday evenings on the following dates:
